Despite a rocky start with a surprise ruined and some initial room issues, the staff went above and beyond to make things right, and the food was a definite highlight. Overall, a nice New Year's experience at beachlands.

The first room was unacceptable - dirty and smelly. But the staff quickly moved us to a much better room, even providing a bottle of wine to apologize for the inconvenience. The second room was clean and spacious, though the lack of a blind on the glass door to the smoking area was odd.

The night manager was fantastic, and really went the extra mile to fix things after a terrible start to my stay. The initial error by the owner was unforgivable though. Other staff were generally pleasant too.
